never to be forgotten...
For mid-day, it was unusually quiet. Though it lacked the deafening silence that would indicate immediate danger, there was still something half-hearted in the way the birds were calling out to one another, and the scurrying of critters through the thicker undergrowth was not as prominent as it usually was. He might have considered it strange, if it wasn't for the unusual heatwave. For the beginning of Spring, the sun had brought with it an unusually warm day, and even Czar himself felt stuffy in his thick, red coat. He had no doubt that whatever lack of motivation Rokas residents were feeling could safely be blamed on the weather. Now, this wasn't to say that the day in itself was unbearably warm, in fact, it was nothing compared to what the Summer could bring. It was however, a much faster spike in temprature than any animal would be prepared for, and with their bodies all still adjusting from the winters colds, it was really no surprise the slight heat was making such an impact.
'Especially with all this damn winter fur still falling off me.." thought Czar with a frown.
His coat was a luxurious texture, and unusually thick. In fact, if it wasn't for his damn red coat, it might have drawn eyes for all the right reasons. Instead, he'd been ridiculed his entire life for looking suspiciously similar to a fox, and he could only thank his father that he'd been given his build. Thanks to that, he'd been able to knock any challenger back into place, and had been able to succeed in almost every aspect of his life. Except socializing. No, his father had ruined him there. Years of training had beaten any sense of rank in society out of him. He was a soldier, the black sheep who could never just stop and be normal.
Large paws descended upon the woodland floor in near silence, the moss and trampled grasses carpeting his steps. His legs were unusually long for a wolf, causing him to stand almost unnaturally tall, and if it wasn't for his broad chest and well muscled frame, he would have looked strangely proportioned. Instead, there was an almost intimidating factor to him as he stalked along, and though his fur lay sleek along his back and his tail was held level behind hm, one could tell that this was the type of animal who had a constant attitude. His golden gaze swept his surroundings unflinchingly as he made his way, though it was his nose and ears that were truly doing the work, and one could see them in constant motion if they were vigilant enough.
Some time back he had come across a trail that was a bit too fresh for his liking. Wreaking of another wolf- even if it was female- the scent trail had only intensified the anxiety growing within. How easy would it be to lose a land he hadn't even claimed yet, especially when his own kind was already traipsing around it? If he didn't do something fast, then he would have a potential rivalry on his hands, and though this was something Czar normally wouldn't mind, the knowledge that whoever was here might already have a pack in the making was enough to push him into tracking them.
Besides, if he could get them alone, he might be able to snuff out any problems before they arose.
